Wheels in the Field 2024

MAX BMW is excited to present our annual fall enduro event, Wheels in the Field.

*THIS IS A BMW ONLY EVENT.  ALL CC BIKES WILL BE WELCOME (310 up to 1300), BUT THEY MUST BE BMW.*

On Saturday, an organized BMW only Dual Sport ride will take place, along with a Scottish Trials event held at The Pinnacle on the Town of Chester property.  The Dual Sport ride will be lead by Team MAX members and will wind through the peak foliage of southern Vermont.  

Please select either A Group or B Group when registering.  A Group will ride through challenging hero sections in the morning Dual Sport Ride.  B Group will be directed around the hero sections during the morning ride.  In short, A Group - advanced riders.  B Group - beginner and intermediate riders.

Check-in will begin at 7:30 AM at The Pinnacle, Lovers Lane, Chester VT.  A Rider's Meeting for the day will take place at 8:30 AM.  The morning Dual Sport ride will leave promptly at 9:00 AM and return to the fields. 

After an afternoon break, the skills portion, referred to as the "Scottish Trials" will take place at The Pinnacle on Lovers Lane in Chester, VT.  The Trials are a timed event with a variety of tests to challenge the BMW Dual Sport rider, coupled with a scenic loop through the Town Forest. 

Finishing the day on Saturday, an awards dinner will be held at 5 at the Pinnacle, Lovers Lane Chester VT.  This celebration of the day's events will be open to participants and spectators.

The cost of entry for Wheels in the Field, which includes admission to the Awards Dinner, is $50.00.

Camping for the weekend will be available at The Pinnacle Field on Friday and Saturday nights. (We are not using the Ball field behind the Legion this year)

Alternatively, there are options for lodging in the surrounding area.  We recommend a quick Google search to find the right accommodations for you. There are also many options for dining throughout the Town of Chester, VT.

Event requirements

You must have full riding gear with body armor, a full-face helmet and boots to participate.

PLEASE ARRIVE WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS AND REMOVE ALL LUGGAGE FROM YOUR MOTORCYCLE PRIOR TO THE RIDE.

Track Day Seminar at MAX BMW NH

Are you curious to know what it's like to ride a track day? Motorcycle track days are a great opportunity to improve your riding skills in a controlled environment and our friends at Fishtail Riding School offer multiple track days throughout the season.

On Saturday, September 14th, Tim Hafner, Lead Instructor for Fishtail Riding School, will be holding a track day seminar at our North Hampton, NH store. Tim will cover topics such as proper motorcycle and rider preparation, what to expect from a day at the track, riding techniques and strategies for improving your street skills and more.

If you have never been to a track day before, or if you are interested in a refresher, this is a great class to attend. The seminar and getting to meet Tim before riding at the track can make your next track day that much better!

The seminar is free and open to all. You do not have to be signed up for a track day to attend, but it would be helpful for us to know you’re coming.

MAX BMW Demo Days - New Milford, CT

The BMW Demo truck will be visiting MAX BMW Motorcycles New Milford, CT on Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7, 2024.

This is always our most exciting store event of the year. Demo the most popular BMW models and get one step closer to riding the BMW motorcycle of your dreams.

Preregister below for your preferred day. Demo rides are first-come, first-served and can only be booked the day of the ride. 

In addition to the BMW demo truck, we’ll have a taco truck here on Friday and a pizza truck on Saturday!

GS Demo Day at all Stores - August 24th

On Saturday, August 24th, all four MAX BMW locations are hosting a GS demo day! Explore the 2024 lineup, including the highly anticipated new R1300 GS. Take advantage of this opportunity to test ride a F, G or R-model GS at the store nearest you.

1973 ISDT Reunion Competition in Pownal VT

The event will use as many of the actual 1973 trails as possible and will follow the 6-Day Qualifier format.

The event Headquarters Start/Finish has a typical Vermont address: Furlong Road, Pownal, Vermont, USA . Go toward the end of the road and you'll see the field filled with vintage bikes and their riders.

Friday evening from 3-7 pm, competitors will arrive for registration and to present their bikes for tech inspection. Once inspected, the bikes will be impounded overnight in Parc Fermé.

Saturday morning kicks off with a rider meeting at 8:15 AM and a Key Time of 9 AM. Riders will start in rows of four and be released at 15-second intervals (4 riders per minute.) The route is unpublished, so spectators are advised to arrive early to get the intel on where the best parts are to spectate. Plus you'll definitely want to be there for the start to see all of these amazing old enduro bikes!

Same schedule for Sunday.

Our friend Teach McNeil will fire up one or two BMWs of his choosing and will be laying down his stunt-riding signatures on our pavement and entertaining all of our friends with his antics.

Teach will perform at 10:30 AM and again at 1:00 PM and you can also wander inside and see what’s happening in the NH store.

Come on over, see a good motorcycle smokeshow and re-connect with your BMW friends. We can’t think of a better way to spend a day, can you?

LIME ROCK Track Day, Saturday, July 15, 2023

Note: This is a BMW ONLY Event for EXPERIENCED TRACK DAY riders. It is not for first-timers.

MAX BMW Motorcycles is excited to partner with Lime Rock Park on Saturday, July 15, 2023 for a private track day.

Open to all BMW Motorcycles.  This is a BMW ONLY Event :

ADVANCED GROUP FAST (30 Spots): For advanced riders or racers who have done many track days/competitive events. Open passing. BMW ONLY.

INTERMEDIATE GROUP (20 Spots): For intermediate riders  who have done 3+ track days/competitive events. Limited passing. BMW ONLY.

BEGINNER GROUP (10 Spots): For novice track day riders who have completed 1 - 2 track days. This group will have lead/follow for half of the intermediate session. Limited passing. BMW ONLY.

If you are a novice rider, or have issue with open passing, please sign up for a Fishtail Riding School event instead. They’re great!

Registration will begin at Lime Rock at 8:00 am. The first session will start at 9:00 am. Groups will trade on and off-track for 20 minute sessions. We will be on track until 1:00 PM.

MUFFLED EVENT: This is a muffled event excessively loud bikes are not permitted.  Please have a muffler.

Wheels in the Field Chester VT - October 1, 2022

Wheels in the field is the best BMW off road event this fall. Come and enjoy everything VT has to offer for you and your GS. This event is limited to 85 riders, so register today!

Free camping available both Friday and Saturday evening at the Softball Fields.

Registration is open on Friday night and Saturday morning.

100+ mile gravel ride Saturday. After lunch Doug will challenge you on his enduro loop and Scottish Trials course.

MAX BMW is excited to present our annual fall enduro event, Wheels in the Field.

*THIS IS A BMW ONLY EVENT.  ALL CC BIKES WILL BE WELCOME (310 up to 1250), BUT THEY MUST BE BMW.*

On Saturday, an organized BMW only Dual Sport ride will take place, along with a Scottish Trials event held at The Pinnacle on the Town of Chester property.  The Dual Sport ride will be lead by Team MAX members and will wind through the peak foliage of southern Vermont.  

Please select either A Group or B Group when registering.  A Group will ride through challenging hero sections in the morning Dual Sport Ride.  B Group will be directed around the hero sections during the morning ride.  In short, A Group - advanced riders.  B Group - beginner and intermediate riders.

Check-in will begin at 7:30 AM at The Green Mountain Softball League Fields.  A Rider's Meeting for the day will take place at 8:30 AM.  The morning Dual Sport ride will leave promptly at 9:00 AM and return to The fields. 

After an afternoon break, the skills portion, referred to as the Scottish Trials will take place at The Pinnacle on Lovers Lane in Chester, VT.  The Trials are a timed event with a variety of tests to challenge the BMW Dual Sport rider, coupled with a scenic loop through the Town Forest. 

Finishing the day on Saturday, an awards dinner will be held at 6:00 PM at The Green Mountain Softball League Fields in Chester, VT.  This celebration of the day's events will be open to participants and spectators.

The cost of entry for Wheels in the Field, which includes admission to the Awards dinner, is $65.00.  Dinner only tickets are available for $30.00 for spectators and guests.

Camping for the weekend will be available at The Green Mountain Softball League Fields.  The town will provide fire pits and wood. 

Alternatively, there are options for lodging in the surrounding area.  We recommend a quick Google search to find the right accommodations for you.  There are also many options for dining throughout the Town of Chester, VT.

Event requirements

You must have full riding gear with body armor, a full-face helmet and boots to participate.

PLEASE ARRIVE WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS AND REMOVE ALL LUGGAGE FROM YOUR MOTORCYCLE PRIOR TO THE RIDE.

Note: This is a BMW ONLY Event for ADVANCED RIDERS. It is not for beginners or first-timers.

MAX BMW Motorcycles is excited to partner with Lime Rock Park for the 2022 season .

Open to all BMW Motorcycles.  This is a BMW ONLY Event.  Advanced Group only.  Advanced FAST, Advanced SLOW.

ADVANCED GROUP FAST (30 Spots): For advanced riders or racers who have done many track days/competitive events. Open passing. Sport bikes

ADVANCED GROUP SLOW (30 Spots): For advanced riders or racers who have done many track days/competitive events. Open passing. GS,RT,K series and airhead

If you are a beginner or have done less than 5 track days, or have issue with open passing, please sign up for a Fishtail Riding School event instead. They’re great!

The first session will start at 9:00 am, registration will begin at Lime Rock at 8:00 am.  Groups will trade on and off-track for 20-30 minute sessions.

MUFFLED EVENT: This is a muffled event excessively loud bikes are not permitted.  Please have a muffler.

LIME ROCK Track Day, Friday, July 1, 2022

Note: This is a BMW ONLY Event for EXPERIENCED TRACK DAY riders. It is not for first-timers.

MAX BMW Motorcycles is excited to partner with Lime Rock Park for our second Track Day of the 2022 season on Friday, July 1, 2022. 

Open to all BMW Motorcycles.  This is a BMW ONLY Event :

ADVANCED GROUP FAST (30 Spots): For advanced riders or racers who have done many track days/competitive events. Open passing. BMW ONLY.

INTERMEDIATE GROUP (20 Spots): For intermediate riders  who have done 3+ track days/competitive events. Limited passing. BMW ONLY.

BEGINNER GROUP (10 Spots): For novice track day riders who have completed 1 - 2 track days. This group will have lead/follow for half of the intermediate session. Limited passing. BMW ONLY.

If you are a novice rider, or have issue with open passing, please sign up for a Fishtail Riding School event instead. They’re great!

Registration will begin at Lime Rock at 8:00 am. The first session will start at 9:00 am. Groups will trade on and off-track for 20 minute sessions. We will be on track until 1:00 PM.

Teach McNeil at our NH Store 6/11/2022

Saturday, June 11th at our MAX BMW store in North Hampton, NH we’re going to paint the parking lot with rubber!

Our friend Teach McNeil will fire up one or two BMWs of his choosing and will be laying down his stunt-riding signatures on our pavement and entertaining all of our friends with his antics.

Teach will perform at 10:30 AM and again at 1:00 PM. We’ll have food and beverages available on-site and you can also wander inside and see what’s happening in the NH store.

Come on over, re-connect with your BMW friends, see a good motorcycle smokeshow and have a bite to eat.

We can’t think of a better way to spend a day, can you?
